It looks like the PlayStation 5 port of the critically acclaimed Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will release this week – surprise! Citing UK retail sources, The Gamer reported earlier today that major chains had received next-gen stock of the Respawn title, which is apparently slated to shadow drop this Friday. Now the tie-in’s Trophies have emerged on Sony’s servers, and an image of the install, which weighs in at 53.87GB.
It’s possible that EA may officially announce the release date during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest: Kickoff Live event tomorrow night, as it is on the list of publishers purportedly participating. Remember, if you already own this game, then you’ll be eligible for a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade, which may very well be all the incentive you need for a second playthrough.

Despite having a bit of a rocky start this turned out to be one of the best Star Wars games in a long time.
I got the plat on base ps4 and enjoyed it, so as long as it's not stupidly priced i'll happily play through it again at 60fps.
If this is also the case on Xbox then I'm well installing it from Game Pass.
Hoping for a sequel. The game was really good with a few major flaws
Despite these it was one of the best Star Wars games ever, and are all solvable In a sequel
this game was awesome... if you haven't played it yet do so !
Picked a copy of this up from ebay when they announced the free upgrade. Been sat there waiting since but im sure I'll get my tenners worth from it
Fantastic game! Loved every second of it! Will gladly play this a third time on PS5!
Would the EA Access version get the free PS5 upgrade?
@themightyant Honestly, playing on Easy made this game for me.
I'll definitely go through this again after the upgrade, but FFVII and Ratchet are already going to be eating up my precious RAM this week.
Really enjoyed this game the first time around.
Unskippable cutscenes make it absolutely unplayable a second time.
Picked this up on sale and then immediately held off from starting as soon as the PS5 version was announced. Looks like it may be time to dive in soon!
Nice, I like the game but man, the loading time is rough, also I want smaller game size.
@themightyant Very good summary of the issues I too had with this game.
I'd add :
But I agree a sequel could solve a lot of these issues (but I'm pretty sure lightsabers will still feel like baseball bats...)
Can't see myself picking this up yet but I missed last gen, so I've been playing GoW, Zero Dawn, GoT and now got Ratchet tomorrow plus picked up Witcher 3 on the cheap in anticipation of that upgrade later this year. I'm a star wars fan but I have to be picky about where I put my limited playtime lol
There goes my weekend but its not a bad way to waste the hours away..great game looking forwards to replaying it...
Ps plus here we come!
hoping that there's a sequel announce soon, apart from Dead Space it's the only thing EA I'd I'd interested in
Is this recommended for someone who has never engaged with the Star Wars franchise in any way previously?
@Atreus97 IDK, but my first entry to Star Wars was Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. I suspect it'll be a little dated two decades later, but it goes to show that games can be a good entry point to a franchise like this.
@Olmaz The faces was a weird one, Cal (to me) looked brilliant and Greez was one of the best looking characters I have ever seen. I know humans are hard with the uncanny valley but many of them looked like Waxworks from Madame Tussaude's.
The texture loading was fixed in PS5/XSX|S patch and it looked truly lovely and was performant. Again hopefully an easy one to fix.
@Deadhunter "Honestly, playing on Easy made this game for me." I almost wish I did, but I love Souls games, which this combat apes, and have platinumed Bloodborne and was hoping for something as deep and tactical. It ended up just being frustrating at times. Play it everyone and give as a sequel Respawn.
I hard someone amusingly say the difficulty names were the wrong way round with Jedi Grandmaster being the hardest setting. Whereas if you were truly a Jedi Grandmaster it should be the easiest for you and the hardest when you were a Padawan
Regardless these are all relatively minor gripes of one of my favourite games in recent years.
@get2sammyb When these upgrades come out do the PS5 trophies automatically pop (already have the PS4 plat) or do you have to complete them over again?
I would look forward to a second playthrough (loved the game) but not getting all the collectables!
Wow EA giving away stuff free? Whatever next. Definitely going for a second playthough on PS5.
If you have not played, I certainly recommend. Feels weird to say that about an EA game, but I quite enjoyed this one. I might go back to try and get the platinum at some point in the near future.
@Atreus97
I'd say so it barely has any connection to the films and If you like games like Dark Souls its pretty much a more casual version of that style. Fun game.
Completed it, mate.
Started this but didn't get too far. Found the map really confusing and ended up going round in circles on a half empty planet
@JapaneseSonic no i borrowed it from a friend, so don't mind paying for this version. Plus the ps5 version has another plat waiting for me.
I borrowed from a friend so I’m more than happy to pay this time. Definitely enjoyed the hardest difficulty so perhaps they’ll add an even harder one!
Already on sale here. I just went to Virgin Megastores to see if I could get Ratchet and Final Fantasy today. It was on the shelf.
Got to go back tomorrow to get Ratchet.
@Atreus97 Yeah I'd say so, I'm not a massive fan of SW and I really enjoyed it
I plan on playing this soon as I can, but FF7 Remake Intermission and R&C Rift Apart take priority.
I played the game on Jedi Grandmaster difficulty and survived.
If a sequel to Jedi Fallen Order is even mentioned or hinted (like Elder Scrolls VI or the God of War sequel) it will be the best moment of this month gaming presentations for me.
It was ok but the end of story was a massive let down which ultimately made what you did during the game pointless
